从人民的需要，看见自己的义务！

昨夜，临睡前阅读了Marina Mahathir（前前首相马哈迪先生的女儿）的文章。

文章中提及她女儿曾向她说的话：

"You know, Mum. If I had stayed at school in Malaysia, I would never read half of the books I've read today. But, I feel sad, Because my friend who didn't come over with me didn't have this opportunity."

对于女儿的这番话，她的体会如下：

She understood first of all that she is lucky to have had the opportunity to study in an environment far more open than she would have had at home. She also understood that that privilege cost her parents money, and it is something to be always grateful for. But, she also understood that it was unfair that her friends did not have the same opportunity, for whatever reason, and, because of that, they may be losing out on something and that was sad. 

细读这段文字，我在想，身为主宰STPM优秀生的升学机会的教育部官员们，是否也有她女儿同样的思维。

受教育是国民的基本权益。

提供高素质的教育则是政府责无旁贷的责任。

多么希望教育部门内的官员们，都能够

向Marina Mahathir 的女儿学习，

从人民的需要中看到自己的义务。
